RI Fashion Shoot
Last Sunday I headed to RI with Tania Sones to do a style shoot for Alison Russell make-up and Kat Mulvaney, who did a beautiful job on Ashley's hair! Ashley was our gorgeous model- who we decided throughout the day looked like both Natalie Portman and Olivia Wilde! She did such an amazing job, considering how freezing it was. I was bundled up in a North Face jacket and still had a hard time- Ashley had to wear cocktail dresses and bikinis and she still did not complain once! She did great, and we all had so much fun on this shoot. This shoot was really great for me because I have not experimented much with off-camera lighting, and we actually used two Paul Buff softboxes throughout the day. Tania is an expert when it comes to off-camera lighting because she learned from the experts, Amber and Eric of Raw Photo Design! Seriously, go check them out...they are sublimey talented and I can't wait to take their workshop sometime soon. Anyways, this shoot was a good learning experience for me when it came to different lighting options. Here are a couple of my favorite images...
I was shooting from the side a couple of times, and with the softboxes, the angle I could get was shooting from below, with just sky behind Ashley. I loved them, and during the shoot was picturing what they would look like black and white. I took about a million, and turned about a million into black and whites using Lightroom presets. Lightroom 3 has great presets for black and white! I'm not going to post all the ones I took, but here are a couple...
Probably my favorite image of the day... I had something specific in mind and the first time we walked over to this little shop, I didn't get it. I made Ashley go back again later, and I was so glad I did. I love this shot!
Bikini time... poor thing was an icicle by this point...
I actually PhotoShopped a tear out of this picture lol...
Thank you Alison Russellfor asking us to do this- so much fun- dream team!! :)
