My future home
Ahhhh, a post about Vermont. You knew it was only a matter of time :) I have been going to Vermont since I was in the womb, and have wanted to live there for basically as long. My mom, aunts, cousins, sister and I all worked at the same camp at one time or another, located in South Hero, a tiny town right in the middle of Lake Champlain. I can't explain the camp very well, except to say that it's kind of like a Dirty Dancing camp, without the dancing? :) Like I said, it's been a special part of my family for years, and I was lucky enough to work there and spend two summers there when I was in high school. I spent those summers swimming in Lake Champlain, spending my waitressing tips on Church Street in Burlington, riding the ferry back and forth to Plattsburgh on starry nights, and dangling my feet in the water while watching the most amazing sunsets you could ever imagine. They were the two best summers of my life, and when they were over I swore I'd move to Burlington as soon as I could. Fast forward ten years to my life today. There have been some interesting turns along the way, a few minor distractions, but I am finally ready to call Vermont home. It's a weird feeling- I'm secure in my job, have great friends and family, and am basically happy all around... but I don't feel like my life will really start until I'm finally where I feel like I belong, and I knew when I was up in Vermont this past weekend that I have definitely always belonged there. My boss has known it's always been my plan to be up there, so I think once I finish wedding season next year, I will head to Vermont in the fall of 2011 and finally get my life started! Anyways, we spent this past weekend in Colchester, only about 15 minutes from where I spent my summers ten years ago. The weather wasn't too great while I was there, but we did get one amazing sunset, so I grabbed my camera and took these shots, which I'll artistically name "View from the Swing" :) The first one I focused on the sunset, and the second I switched it up and focused on the rope of the swing. I liked them both equally so I'll post both! Can't wait to make this my view every night...
