Genevieve and Brett
Since the day I met Genevieve, I have known one thing: she is a show stopper. I have come to know other things about her in the passing years: she is a great friend, she is warm and considerate and caring, she is loyal, and she is a big fan of cheesy bread, no matter what the time of day or night :) I've learned a lot about Genevieve over the years, but I have always known she was a show stopper. From day one, I could see that Genevieve was beautiful and outgoing, the kind of person who lights up a room just by walking into it. She is funny and vivacious; she basks in the limelight not because she wants the attention, but because she deserves it, because she is genuinely a good person with a good heart. And then there's Brett, the only guy at the bar who could steal Vieve's attention away. From the day he came along, all the boys in all the bars in the world couldn't interest Genevieve. She didn't care about being the center of attention anymore, as long as she was the center of his world. And she was, and has been, for the past 4 years. He's happy to let her bask in the limelight, knowing that the most beautiful girl in the room is his best friend, his soul mate, and now, his wife.
I was beyond thrilled when Genevieve asked me to take a few pictures of their big day, and it was hard to pick my favorites to blog because they looked so great in all of them! But here are just a few for your viewing pleasure...
This is a shot of the lovely Genevieve right before she put on her dress...
I had to photograph the bridesmaid/ groomsmen gifts, because the groom bought his friends these awesome customized bobble-head dolls of themselves. Think Dwight on The Office :)
And the bride bought her girls these beautiful starfish necklaces... this is the lovely Shelby Bukhenik modeling it for me!
Genevieve and Brett opted to see each other before the ceremony to get some pictures done in case the weather didn't cooperate. This was my first time doing a "first look", a ritual my idol Jasmine Star has down to a science. I was glad we did it because it definitely took some pressure off the rest of the afternoon. This is a shot of Genevieve coming down to see her groom-to-be for the first time.
I was told this shot looked like a Backstreet Boys CD cover... I'm choosing to take that as a compliment :)
They did it!
On our way back to the resort after the ceremony, Genevieve insisted she and Brett climb aboard an 8 year old's bike and take some shots. I have to say I'm glad she did, because this cracks me up...
Back at the Winnetu...
Genevieve had bought these great pink boots in case it rained, so we had to photograph them before dinner started!
The weather cooperated with us all day, and only rained a little when we went in for dinner. Wouldn't you know it, a few minutes later we had a beautiful rainbow to photograph! I got so lucky :)
Genevieve and Brett, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your day. Thank you for trusting me enough to capture some special moments for you as you start your new lives together. My pictures will never do justice to how beautiful you both are and the whole weekend was, but I hope there are some that you like and that tell the story of your wonderful wedding. I had so much fun. Thanks again!
