Common Threads: A Dress for Success Event

Last week I had the privilege of attending Common Threads, an event put on by the fabulous women of Dress for Success.  Dress for Success is a wonderful non-profit organization that provides professional clothing to women who are looking to better their lives by finding jobs and remaining employed.  The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.  To find out more about this great organization and how you can get involved, click here. My friend Michele sits on the local Dress for Success board, and asked me if I would mind photographing the event.  Of course I said no problem, and headed to the Log Cabin for the event.  It was a great evening, and so motivating to see all these wonderful women (and men too) coming together for such a great cause.  It was also amazing to see women who just recently went through the program model their clothes, and see the pride and confidence in their eyes as they proudly told the room "Yes, I can."  It was an incredible evening and I thank Michele for inviting me!

One of the past graduates of the Dress for Success program has started her own jewelry business, and she was there selling some of her pieces...

They served us dessert before the main course... ask me how excited I was!

After the fashion show all the wonderful models got flowers, and there were a lot of happy tears shed!
