Christina and Johnny
In my old apartment, I had two tin signs hanging in my room. The one above my door said “Live with Passion” and the one above my closet said “Laugh Out Loud.” I bought them in Nashville , and had fallen in love with them the second I saw them. There’s something about both sayings that I felt rang true to my life, or at least the life I want to lead. The signs also reminded me of the kind of people I wanted to surround myself with, people that lived passionately and laughed loudly and embraced life to the fullest. I knew from the minute I met them that Christina and Johnny are like that, and that’s probably why I fell in love with them immediately.
I first met Christina and Johnny when I did their engagement session this past January. Molly came along since she was going to be second shooting their wedding, and I think we were both hooked on them from the minute they showed up. Their personalities are warm, their laughter is infectious, and their love is genuine and carefree. Over the two hours we spent with them, we learned the kind of people they are: the kind of people who give more than they take, the kind of people that light up a room when they walk in, and of course, the kind of people who live with passion and laugh out loud. Yesterday, when we photographed their wedding, I didn’t feel like I was working, I felt like I was watching two of my friends get married, and it was a very cool feeling. Here are a few favorites from their wedding day for your viewing pleasure!
The very dapper groom...
Oh hey gorgeous...
The bride and groom opening their wedding day gifts from each other...
Christina must have told me about 300 times how cute her nephew is. When I saw him, I didn't even need an introduction, because I knew exactly who he was, and he was definitely the cutest boy in attendance... and that includes the groom :) Kidding Johnny!!!
I was recently thinking about buying a macro lens, but just haven't been able to afford it. Meg and Josh recently turned me on to the Canon extension tube, so I bought one Saturday before the wedding, and WOW. It lets you get so much closer on ring shots. I can't wait to experiment with it more! These are the rings on top of Johnny's cigar box...
Christina and Johnny's friend Erika made the wedding cake, and it was spectacular...
Ceremony time! The gazebo at the Atkinson Country Club was a beautiful place to get married.
Christina's sister-in-law gave a very heartfelt speech during the ceremony, this is Chris and Johnny's reaction to her words...
They could not stop kissing! Loved it.
So the afternoon before the wedding, I was driving to Atkinson for the first time, which is right over the MA/ NH border. As I was driving back roads through Haverhill, I happened upon this INSANE sunflower field. I am absolutely obsessed with sunflowers and so this was like a fairy tale. Much to my delight, it ended up being 6 MINUTES from the country club. I know because I timed it there and back about 4 times :) One of the times I went out there, I was walking around a little bit, and you'll never believe what I found on the caretaker's garage... scroll down to see...
Ta-da!!! Amazing, right? It was like fate lol...
My favorite...
Christina and Johnny started off the reception by showing off their amazing ballroom dancing skills... first a waltz and then a quick step... I was impressed!
Towards the end of the night, Christina surprised everyone by getting on stage and singing a song for Johnny! She did an amazing job, and it was such an emotional moment...
Johnny bum-rushed the stage after she finished to show his new wife some love...
Something about this photo just makes me happy, so I'll end with it. Christina and Johnny, you guys are so amazing, thank you for letting me and Molly into your lives and sharing your special day with us. We love you, have an amazing time in Mexico!!!
